I really enjoy candid photography, I think it captures the moment beautifully and shows the spirit of the individuals.

The Suitcase Project
It started with a suitcase...
My Grandma Friemel was a huge influence in my love for art. My family has a very rich history in art, music and engineering.
I was inspired by my cousin and encouraged by everyone to pursue this journey. To guide me, my aunt gave me a suitcase full of photographs, newspaper clippings, albums, ship logs and letters. I felt like I was getting a secret treasure chest and I needed to share this exact experience with the family. The only way I could think of doing it is if EVERYONE had a suitcase just like mine. I restored photographs, made high resolution and digital copies of everything, I even recreated books. I felt it was necessary to have tangible objects in this piece.
I loved my Grandma very dearly. She passed away when I was eleven years old from a brain tumor and I never got to say goodbye. I did this project for closure and to honor her as well as my amazing family.
